The Corporation of the Village of Merrickville-Wolford February 8, 2010 A regular meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Merrickville-Wolford was held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2010. Chaired by: Mayor, J. Douglas Struthers Members of Council: Deputy Mayor Kim Weedmark Councillor Timothy Molloy Councillor Gretta Sels Councillor Jane Graham Regrets Councillor Joan Spencer Councillor Lorne Caldwell Staff in Attendance: CAO/Clerk, Jill Eagle Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest: None Press in Attendance: 0 Public in Attendance: +/- 5 Additions to the Agenda: The Mayor added two items - One under RVCA under Boards and Committees regarding an upcoming meeting of the RVCA Board and one item under general regarding the 150th anniversary of the first meeting of Merrickville Council. Councillor Sels added an item under Boards and Committees - Environment Committee questions. Delegations: Gordon Sowten - Merrickville Youth Centre. Open Question Period: Dell Bower, 305 St Patrick Street Mr. Bower noted that the item on the agenda attributed to him was regarding Notices not Blue Boxes. In addition he noted that the agendas were not being posted to the Bulletin Board at the Post Office. Resolutions: R-020-10 Moved by K. Weedmark, Seconded by J. Graham Be it hereby resolved that: the agenda of the regular council meeting of February 8, 2010 be adopted as amended. Carried. R-021-10 Moved by T. Molloy, Seconded by G. Sels Be it hereby resolved that: the minutes of the regular council meeting on January 25, 2010 be adopted as circulated. Carried. R-022-10 Moved by G. Sels, Seconded by T. Molloy Be it hereby resolved that: The Council of the Corporation of the Village of Merrickville-Wolford does hereby support the resolution passed by the Township of Front of Yonge regarding livestock killed by coyotes. Carried. R-023-10 Moved by K. Weedmark, Seconded by G. Sels Be it hereby resolved that: By-Law 05-10, being a By-Law to authorize the execution of an amending agreement with Ministry of Community Services and Correctional Services for the provision of Police Services, be read a first and second time, and that By-Law 05-10 be read a third and final time and passed. Carried. R-024-10 Moved by T. Molloy, Seconded by G. Sels Be it hereby resolved that: By-Law 07-10, being a By-law to amend By-Law 04-10, a by-law to repeal Schedule B of By-Law 10-82, be read a first and second time, and that By-Law 07-10 be read a third and final time and passed. Carried. R-025-10 Moved by K. Weedmark, Seconded by J. Graham Be it hereby resolved that: this Council moves to "In Camera" in order to address matters pertaining to: personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees; and a proposed or pending possible disposal of municipal or local board land. Carried. R-026-10 Moved by K. Weedmark, Seconded by J. Graham Be it hereby resolved that: the "In Camera" session rise and report and the regular council session resume. Carried. R-027-10 Moved by T. Molloy, Seconded by G. Sels Be it hereby resolved that: the Council of Village of Merrickville-Wolford does direct staff to prepare a by-law declaring the Pearson Building located at 111 Main Street E. as surplus to municipal needs for consideration at the March 8, 2010 Council meeting. Molloy Be it hereby resolved that: This regular meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Merrickville-Wolford does now adjourn at 9:30 pm until the regular meeting of council on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 7:00 pm, or until the call of the Mayor subject to need.
