The Village of Merrickville-Wolford has opened a Cooling Center at the Community Centre, located at 106 Read Street, Merrickville, inside the lobby area at the south end of the building and is accessible through the door by the parking lot. The cooling center will be open to the public from 7am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday, unless a significant heat event takes place and then it may be open later.

The facility will be equipped with seating and cold water for residents to take advantage of while using the facility. It will allow service animals and pets provided they are kept on leach and looked after. Also cleaned up after if needed.

Please note that the cooling center does not have inside washrooms so a wheelchair accessible washroom will be provided at the side of the community center for residents and visitors.
