The Village was thrilled to have Stephen Duff, Chief Economist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), come out to MUAC and present his analysis on “Food, Agriculture and Economic Opportunities in Merrickville-Wolford.” 

We welcomed 75 people to the event, including local farmers, food and agriculture-related businesses & organizations, residents and neighbours. Steve shone a bright light on Merrickville-Wolford and the region, based on his research and Ag Census data. Our Agri-Food and Agri-product sector is strong, and connected to many other key sectors in our local economy, including Tourism, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Education and more. It provides economic opportunities for us locally and regionally, all along the value chain.
