This gala event is to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Blockhouse museum and the founding of the Merrickville and District Historical Society. In addition it celebrates the 200th anniversary of the start of the building of the Rideau Canal with a dedicated exhibit showcasing this tremendous effort. It takes place at the museum with special guests and an opportunity to visit the new displays and re-arranged museum.
