On March 8th, 2021, Council declared April 7th Green Shirt Day after receiving a request from Ethan Bos. Ethan is a 13 year-old boy who is contacting municipalities across Leeds and Grenville in the hopes of raising awareness around Organ Donation. In his letter, he notes “Green Shirt Day is in honor of the Logan Boulet effect. Logan Boulet was a member of the Humboldt Broncos and one of the players who died due to the crash. He signed his organ donor card and his family followed his wishes; his organs were donated and he saved six lives.” Ethan also notes that due to Logan’s family sharing his story, 300,000 registered to become organ donors.
