Highlights from the January 26th Regular Council Meeting
- The Minutes were approved from the Meetings on December 22nd, January 12th, and the Committee of the Whole on January 12th.
- Council approved the recommendations as included within the Orchards of River Bend Subdivision Open House report. A Public Meeting will be held on this file when the application is at an appropriate status to do so.
- The Interim Tax Levy and Borrowing By-laws were enacted.
- The By-law to amend the Village’s Sign By-law 24-10 was approved. The purpose of the by-law was to repeal and replace section 7.7 (directional signage) of the by-law.
- Council received Departmental Activity Updates from the Public Works, Fire/By-law Enforcement, Finance/Administration, and Clerk departments.
- A 2026 Municipal Election report was brought forward as a summary of key timelines and information regarding the upcoming Municipal Election.
- The recruitment for vacancies on the Blockhouse Museum Board and the 2026 Canada Day Committee were extended to February 13th, 2026. Council appointed David Woollings to both the Museum Board and the 2026 Canada Day Committee.
- Council endorsed a resolution of support for the AMO resolution regarding OMERS Governance Changes.
There was a Special Meeting held at 3:00 p.m. for the purpose of Council reviewing the 2026 draft Budget. Another budget meeting will be scheduled at a future date for further review of the draft budget.

Staff are looking to hear from residents on the best ways to circulate and provide municipal information.
