Highlights from the September 28th Regular Council Meeting
- The Minutes were approved from the Council Meetings on July 27th, July 28th, September 14th, September 15th, and Committee of the Whole on September 14th.
- Council approved the request for the heritage building window upgrade at 111 Main Street East.
- By-law 52-2026 was approved, being a By-law to Amend the Site Plan Control By-law 11-2021.
- Council approved Zoning Amendment ZBA-05-2026 (Ogilvie) and its relevant By-law 53-2026.
- The Development Agreement for Consent File No. B-97-24 was approved and authorized for execution.
- Council received a delegation from Karl Feige regarding the history and ownership of the Merrickville Directional Arrow System.
- Departmental Activity Update reports were provided for inforamtion from the Clerk and the CAO/Finance Departments.
- An information report was received regarding the 2026-2030 Compliance Audit Committee. The appointments have been made for the 2026-2030 term of Council ahead of the Municipal Election.
- Council approved the Merrickville Community Centre Banner Policy as presented. This will be the guiding document for requests for banners to be hung on the Community Centre.
- Council endorsed a resolution of support regarding a province-wide regulatory framework for e-scooters.
- Council approved the request for the unopened road allowance application form (Telford), being to clear fallen trees and brush from the existing drainage ditch. Direction was given to Staff to inquire further about the beaver dam as included in the request.

Municipal Reminder
The Municipal & School Board Election is on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Electors should receive their Voter Information Letters in the mail in early to mid-October. If you do not receive a Voter Letter by October 14th, please contact the Municipal Office. You may need to be added to the Voter’s List.
