CPKC Rail has provided the municipality with notice concerning their 2026 vegetation control program. The rail ballast portion of the project will take place within the municipality between May 4 and August 31st, 2026. The program is confined to CPKC's right-of-way and will consist of brush control activities and grass/weed control using herbicides (O. Reg 63/09). This work is completed to improve sight lines at railway crossings, assist in infrastructure inspections and to improve visibility of train signals.
