Public Town Hall Meeting Scheduled - Preliminary Budget Discussion

The Municipality has scheduled a Town Hall Public Meeting as a preliminary budget discussion.

The purpose of the meeting is to: 

  • Provide an opportunity for residents to present budget-related ideas and suggestions that address local needs and priorities.
  • Promote transparency in municipal decision-making and foster collaborative and trusted local governance.
  • Gather input from members of the public on budget issues and generate community-informed recommendations that provide direction to Council and support informed budget decisions.
  • Encourage public participation in the budget process and identify priorities that may have broad community support.

Council Members and Municipal Staff will be in attendance solely to listen to presentations. There will be no debate, discussion, or response to presentations during the meeting. This is not a Council Meeting. All matters presented will be considered during future budget deliberations.

Meeting Process

Mayor Cameron will call the Public Meeting to order and invite registered speakers to make their presentations.

Pre-registration is encouraged and presentations will be scheduled in the order registrations are received by the Clerk. Following presentations by registered speakers, any remaining members of the public who wish to speak will be provided an opportunity to do so, time permitting.

Each speaker will be allotted a maximum of five (5) minutes to present.

The Clerk will record the presentation summary without comment or discussion.

To assist with accuracy, speakers are requested to provide a written summary of their presentation to the Clerk.

Presentations should include clear and concise information outlining:
• The proposal being presented;
• How the proposal would benefit the community as a whole; and
• The anticipated impact on municipal costs and property taxes, where applicable.

Reporting to Council 

A summary of all presentations, together with the results of the Municipal Services and Property Tax Survey, will be included in the Council Agenda Package for the October 13, 2026 Regular Council meeting.
