Merrickville Fire Department Receives $25,413.00 Equipment Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada

Merrickville Fire Department was awarded $25,413.00 Equipment Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada.  Monies received purchased a new Hurst Combi Tool which will allow the firefighters to breach windows and doors burning houses and cars in order to rescue people.  This tool can also operate under water.  On hand for the presentation in Merrickville, were several members of the Fire Department, Mayor and Council, CAO Plumley, staff and Firehouse Subs Franchisee Sakar from Kanata/Hazeldean.  Chief Cole expressed his gratitude for the grant funds and expressed 'this tool will fulfill a critcal need within our department.'
