New Update - December 31, 2025
Due to some residents not receiving the municipal mailout with the changes to waste and recycling, the below are new updates:
- Curbside Waste Pick Up will commence January 7, 2026, throughout the municipality. Bags must be tagged with $2.50 tags.
- Residents are able to use $1.00 Wolford tags at the landfill until end of day on January 10, 2026, as a grace period for the change.
- Recycling will remain curbside pickup for the Village – status quo.
- The landfill will be used for Wolford Ward for recycling until February 28, 2026. Thereafter, it is planned to have curbside pickup for recycling throughout the municipality.
Merrickville Ward
Our new contractor Emterra will be collecting recyclable materials and waste – as per the current schedule, commencing 2026.
January 7 will be the first day for Emterra with collection starting with containers. Materials will alternate between weeks.
Wolford Ward
The recycling will remain at the Depot for ~2 months, then it will transition to curbside pickup.

The Waste will be curbside pickup by Emterra commencing January 7, 2026. Residents still may use the landfill for waste, however $2.50 tags are required.
Residents are able to return their Wolford tags for $1.00 each against a sheet(s) of 10 Orange Tags (valued at $25 per sheet). 1 tag is valued at $2.50 each.
